CASIS VANCOUVER DIGITAL ROUNDTABLE 17 JULY 2025
Ladies and gentlemen,
CASIS Vancouver has courteously invited five members of CIN/RCR to attend their upcoming digital
roundtable: "Modernizing Canada’s Digital Posture: Enabling Success in the 21st Century Battlespace" on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
I therefore ask who among you would like to attend virtually? I will take the first five names responding to this note and submit the names to CASIS, who will forward link information in due course. I need first and last names, and an email address for each volunteer. Returns are required NLT noon, this Thursday, 10 July 2025.
The event will include a presentation by Vice-Admiral Lloyd, who will explore the steps necessary to modernize Canada’s tools and strategies for the modern battlespace. The presentation will be followed by a
question-and-answer session.
Vice-Admiral (Rtd.) Ron Lloyd, a native of Taber, Alberta, was the 35th Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy (2016-2019). He also served as acting Vice Chief of the Defence Staff and the first Chief Data Officer for the Department of National Defence. With 38 years in the RCN, he commanded multiple fleets and deployed globally. Since retirement, he advises industry and has written extensively on Canada's digital ambition and defence challenges. Lloyd holds degrees from Royal Roads Military College and Royal Military College, and is a graduate of Harvard Kennedy School's Executive Education.
Best regards,
Jim
