2023 CANADIAN INTELLIGENCE CONFERENCE (CANIC 2023)

The Canadian Military Intelligence Association (CMIA) is once again holding its annual Canadian Intelligence Conference, in Ottawa, on Tuesday 16 May 2023 (CANIC 2023). Conference information will go 'live' on the CMIA website (https://www.cmia-acrm.ca/) this week. The conference theme is: Intelligence Change Vectors: What's coming and what needs to be done about it.

I will replicate CANIC 2023 information on the CIN/RCR site for the benefit of all members.

CANIC 2023 is being supported by the Canadian Forces Intelligence Command (CFINTCOM) and CIN/RCR. I am the lead planner and John Gilmour has agreed to moderate a panel. In return, all CIN/RCR members will be eligible for the same registration rate as CMIA members (the cheapest rate) for in-person, or online only attendance.

Invited keynote speakers are the National Security and Intelligence Advisor to the Prime Minister and the Commander Canadian Forces Intelligence Command. Panels will offer future-oriented thoughts on the intelligence accountability and review regime, exploitation of emerging technology, pan-jurisdictional intelligence collaboration (based on lessons from the 2022 Ottawa Trucker Convoy Occupation, and broad views of the future of the Canadian intelligence enterprise.

CANIC 2023 will be a hybrid event, with an online component, so hopefully, we can get all CIN/RCR members to attend, as well as others from across the country, and allies abroad.

I'll keep everyone informed. Let me know if you need anything in the meantime.

Best regards,

Jim
